What’s the Plan?

There can be only one subject for our first post, the question we’ve been asked more than any other over the last 4 years – what’s the plan?

We set off on Tuesday 2 July for Bangkok. We will spend a few nights there before moving off to Cambodia.

After seeing Angkor Wat and visiting Pnom Penh, we travel to Vietnam. We will work our way up through Vietnam enjoying it’s coastline an culture, then into Laos.

From Vientiane, we will fly back to Bangkok then travel South through Thailand, hopefully learning to dive in Ko Tao, and climbing on the Andaman coast. We will continue South into Malaysia and then to Singapore.

We carry on into Indonesia, through Sumatra and Java, into Bali and hopefully Lombok.

Having spend 3-4 months in South East Asia, we travel to Nepal for a month where we will visit Kathmandu and Pokhara, then spend a couple of weeks trekking the Annapurna circuit. We are so excited to walk through the Himalayan mountains about which we had read so much.

Just as the Northern Hemisphere starts to become wintery, we go South to Cairns in Australia. After hopefully diving around the Great Barrier Reef, we will work our way South down the coast to Sydney.

From Sydney we hop across to New Zealand where we hope to spend 6 weeks exploring a country everyone describes so glowingly. Funds permitting we will change from public transport to hiring a campervan to make the most of the NZ landscape.

If time allows we will then go for a beach holiday to Fiji and then Hawaii, before we start our final segment in North America.

Having landed in San Francisco or LA, we hope to explore these cities before getting our climbing kit back on to explore the amazing US national parks. Having dreamed and read so much about these incredible places…. Yosemite, Zion, Joshua Tree, we are so excited to see them for ourselves, climb them for ourselves!

We hope to explore Vancouver and parts of Canada before moving East, to finish in New York, returning home in June 2020.
